1st Paragraph:
Arab states voted Sunday to impose economic sanctions on Syria immediately, in response to President Bashar al-Assad's failure to halt a violent crackdown on an eight-month uprising against his rule.

SA: 
The authors says that Syria was sanctioned by arabs countries because the President Assad has executed a crackdown against Syrians people.

Last Paragraph:
During Libya's uprising, an Arab League call for an no-fly zone led to a U.N. Security Council resolution, which in turn paved the way for NATO air strikes on Muammar Gaddafi's forces.

SA:
The author explains that the actions of Arab League caused an international response that ended with the establishment of a no-fly zone that was used by attack to Gaddafi.
